150 Young Australians to Participate in Canberra
CANBERRA — The Department of the House of Representatives, together with Y Australia, has announced the selection of 150 young delegates for the National Youth Parliament 2026. Scheduled from August 16 to 20 in Canberra, this initiative will see students from across the nation engage in a five-day immersive experience in Australian democracy.
The National Youth Parliament aims to provide these young Australians with the tools to understand and participate in the country’s democratic processes, according to a statement released by the Department. Each delegate will represent one of Australia’s federal electorates, bringing diverse perspectives to the discussions at Parliament House and the Museum of Australian Democracy.
