Protein pie delivers 30g per serve in Daniel’s new range

Daniel’s has introduced a new protein pie ahead of the 2026 footy season, with its Protein Beef & Cheese Pie delivering 30 grams of protein per serve. The product forms part of an expanded savoury range timed with increased demand for match-day food options.

The new release features a puff pastry crust and maintains the flavour profile of the brand’s standard Beef & Cheese Pie while increasing protein content to nearly double. The product targets consumers seeking higher protein intake without changing traditional food choices.

The range is fronted by AFL Premiership player Beau McCreery, who features as a campaign ambassador. His involvement aligns with the product’s positioning around performance, endurance, and recovery during the football season.

“I’m always looking for food that actually fills you up and keeps you going, especially during the season,” McCreery said. “This one ticks both boxes. It has the protein side covered, and it’s delicious. You don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything.”

Daniel’s produces its pies at a custom-built facility in Truganina. The company states each product is made from scratch using house-made pastry and prepared fillings. The business launched in 2016 and builds on more than 40 years of baking experience tied to founder Daniel Bartalotta’s family recipes.

Expanded menu and seasonal additions

The current menu includes 14 pie varieties, alongside sausage rolls and pasties. Core options include NZ Style Chunky Steak & Cheese Pie, Plain Beef Pie, Beef & Mushroom Pie, Chicken & Leek Pie, and Butter Chicken Pie. Additionally, the Protein Beef & Cheese Pie sits within a broader offering that covers a range of flavour profiles and dietary preferences.

A new Spaghetti Bolognese Pie is scheduled for release from 10th April at selected locations. The product features slow-cooked bolognese encased in pastry, expanding the menu with a pasta-inspired option.

Pricing for pies starts from $6.90, with the high protein range beginning at $7.90. Combo options are also available, combining a pie or sausage roll with a donut or cookie and a drink for under $15. Prices and availability vary by location.

Products are available at selected retail stores and petrol convenience outlets, as well as online and through delivery platforms including Uber Eats and DoorDash. The range excludes theme parks, event venues, and stadium locations.
