The Empire State Building will celebrate its 95th anniversary on 1st May 2026 with a series of new offers and exclusive experiences at its Observation Deck. A special anniversary lighting display will also mark the occasion. This iconic landmark remains a top attraction in New York City, drawing millions of visitors annually.

Visitors can enjoy new attractions, including the Kong Sundae available on the 86th Floor Observation Deck. This treat, featuring Ghirardelli’s hot fudge and a Chocolatey Kong, will be available throughout May. The Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop has extended this offering due to popular demand.

Anthony E. Malkin, chairman and CEO of Empire State Realty Trust, remarked, “The Empire State Building celebrates its 95th anniversary, still the ‘World’s Most Famous Building,’ a modernised, sustainability leader as technologically advanced today as the day she was completed.” The building was awarded the #1 Top Attraction in the United States in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2026.

Sky High Celebrations

The Empire State Building will offer its first-ever Birthday Party Package, including a guided tour of the Observation Deck galleries, a private party room, and a visit from the mascot Emma Pire. These packages accommodate up to 25 guests and require booking 28 days in advance. The package includes artisanal snacks, drinks, and party favors.

The building’s iconic lights will shine in a dynamic, multi-colour display on 1st May, visible across New York City. Fans globally can watch live via EarthCam, ensuring that the celebration reaches audiences worldwide. This dazzling milestone will highlight the city’s skyline.

Dan Rogoski, general manager of the Empire State Building Observation Deck, said, “For nearly a century, the Empire State Building has been a must-visit destination and one of the top things to do in NYC for travellers from around the world.” The building’s continuous innovation keeps it relevant and engaging for tourists.

Significant renovations, including a $165 million overhaul of its Observation Decks, have modernised the Empire State Building. With LEED v5 Platinum certification, it leads in sustainability. Additional announcements will be made throughout 2026, ensuring that the building remains a top choice for visitor experiences.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Empire State Building will also feature special programmes and events, further cementing its status as a cultural and architectural icon. It continues to captivate people from all walks of life with its historical significance and modern innovation.
