Festival Features New and Returning Events

The Sydney Comedy Festival kicks off today, 13th April 2026, with over 400 shows scheduled until 17th May. This year’s festival promises the largest programme yet, featuring a diverse lineup of local and international comedians.

One of the festival’s notable highlights is the return of the family-friendly ‘Great Laugh in the Park’ event at Tumbalong Park on 19th April. Audiences of all ages can enjoy performances by Jimmy Rees OAM and the Bluey Live Interactive Experience. This event runs from midday to 8:30 pm, ensuring a full day of laughter and fun.

Global superstar Tiffany Haddish will headline multiple shows, including performances at the State Theatre on 25th April and at the Enmore Theatre on the public holiday eve, 26th April. The festival will also feature international acts such as Daniel Sloss and Joanne McNally, alongside the comedy play CLUEDO, offering a wide range of entertainment options.

Exciting New Features

This year introduces the first-ever Sydney Comedy Festival Comedy Cruise, offering a unique comedy experience on Sydney Harbour. there will be six Comedy Crawls across various Sydney locations, including Manly, The Rocks, and Oxford Street, bringing comedy to different parts of the city.

The Comedy Gala on the Green returns to Tumbalong Park on 18th April, featuring performances from global superstars including Tiffany Haddish and hosted by Guy Montgomery. This event guarantees a night of laughter with some of the biggest names in comedy.

For those seeking an evening of stand-up, Daniel Sloss and Joanne McNally will bring their international flair to the festival. Meanwhile, Reuben Kaye and Celia Pacquola add to the impressive lineup. The festival also features the hilarious whodunnit play, CLUEDO, ensuring there is something for everyone.

James Declase, General Manager of the Sydney Comedy Festival, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “With over 400 shows over five massive weeks of comedy, we are pleased to welcome you to the biggest Sydney Comedy Festival programme ever.
