Advanced Technology for Gulf of America

SLB OneSubsea, a joint venture of SLB, Aker Solutions, and Subsea7, has secured a significant contract from Beacon Offshore Energy (BOE) Exploration and Production LLC. Announced on 9 April 2026, this contract involves delivering a high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) multiphase boosting system for the Shenandoah field in the Gulf of America.

Beginning in January 2025, collaboration with BOE allowed SLB OneSubsea to design a subsea boosting solution tailored specifically to the demanding conditions of the Shenandoah field. Andreas Fjellbirkeland, Vice President of Processing Systems at SLB OneSubsea, stated, “Our engagement with BOE enabled us to create a system specifically for these requirements.”

Details of the Contract

This contract specifies the delivery of a system engineered to operate reliably above 15,000 psi, surpassing the capabilities of conventional subsea solutions. Such advancement addresses the complex demands of high-pressure, high-temperature fields and is expected to significantly enhance the field’s overall production and economic value.

Advanced technology from SLB OneSubsea is designed to accelerate production, improve recovery rates, and support enhanced oil recovery efforts. As oil companies continue their investments in deepwater projects in the Gulf, this type of technology is crucial for increasing field value.

Strategically positioned, the Gulf of America serves as a pivotal location for deepwater projects. This contract underscores SLB OneSubsea’s commitment to innovation and sustainable energy solutions. Their technology plays a key role in supporting the energy sector’s transition to more efficient and environmentally friendly operations.

SLB, with a global presence in over 100 countries and a workforce representing numerous nationalities, stands at the forefront of energy technology innovation. The company is dedicated to driving the energy transition by integrating digital advancements and decarbonizing industries.

Headquartered in Oslo and Houston, SLB OneSubsea employs 10,000 people worldwide. The joint venture aims to unlock the potential of subsea solutions, reduce emissions, and optimise oil and gas production.

Beacon Offshore Energy’s development plans for the Shenandoah field will benefit significantly from this high-pressure, high-temperature multiphase boosting system, setting a benchmark for future deepwater projects in the region.
